Ongoing Needs

This blog is live for historic purposes only. The wonderful people who supported me in this project deserve recognition and I refuse to delete it and all records of our hard work. Thank you all for your support. Please see my latest post for information regarding the future of this program.

NEW!!! Donation Guidelines

Updated 11/24/2013

Our mission is to warm up Massachusetts. With that in mind, please review the following guidelines before making/mailing your donations to Beth's Hats for Hope Initiative: Massachusetts.

Please check our Current Projects and see what is needed before you send anything in. If you have something already made that we do not currently need please message me and if I don't think we will need it soon I will recommend another Hats for Hope chapter to you. This is important due to my limited storage space.

Hats
Baby Hats must fit an average size newborn or larger.
Child, Teen and Adult size hats must be warm. If you can easily stick a pencil between the stitches, the hat isn't going to keep someone warm.

Please do NOT attach anything to hats for babies or children that may be considered a choking hazard. This includes buttons, bows, beads, snaps or anything that is not permanently secured. If I can pull it off easily, I will not use the hat.

Please put a tag on your hat indicating the fiber type and size.

Visit http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/size-chart.html for details on sizes for hats and other items.

Scarves:
Scarves must be at least 4" wide and 48" long. Please do not use eyelash or feathery yarn. Please put a tag on your scarf indicating the fiber type.

Mittens and Slippers:
Please make sure they are warm and string them together so they do not get separated. Please put a tag on your mittens indicating the fiber type.

Blankets & Squares
We are not accepting blankets or squares at this time.

This page will be updated as needed.

I appreciate all your help and ongoing support in making Beth's Hats For Hope Initiative: Massachusetts a successful chapter of Emily's Hats for Hope.
